Assistant Professor Joe Gardino has been teaching kempo karate since he received his black belt in 1990. Under the direction of Assistant Professor Garland Johnson and Professor Martin Buell, Assistant Professor Gardino has shared kempo karate with many. Since High School his goal was to be a martial arts instructor. He has loved teaching ever since. He and his wife Marty, herself a 6th Degree Chief Instructor, along with their 2 sons enjoy the martial arts and how it has impacted their lives. They work well as a team and are committed to their students growth and improvement thru the basic principles of Mind, Body and Spirit. Our goal in teaching is that each person will improve their awareness and be more confident in the areas of self-defense, physical fitness, personal values and character development.
